Simplified point and interval estimation for removal trapping.

A regression technique, based on the limiting normal distribution of the multinomial, is given for point and interval estimation of the parameters in the removal trapping method of determining animal and insect populations. Comparisons are made with maximum likelihood estimates. Two examples of estimating spider populations are given.
