Transtemporal approaches to the cranial cavity.

A variety of surgical approaches through the temporal bone to the cranial cavity have been described in the past. We advocate creative modifications and combinations of these approaches in order to match the specific needs of particular tumors and other types of pathology. Two case examples demonstrating the need for such modifications are presented.
