Abstract
The effect of calcium dobesilate (calcium dihydroxy-2,5 benzenesulphonate) on thrombus formation in vivo was evaluated. Experimental thrombi were induced in a venule of a hamster cheek pouch following iontophoresis of adenosine diphosphate (ADP). Calcium dobesilate administered intraperitoneally as a single injection inhibited thrombus formation in a time- and dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, the combination of calcium dobesilate and aspirin resulted in the potentiation of the inhibition of thrombus formation.Entities:
