Abstract
Subsurface cisterns were found in retinal neurons of the Cynomolgus monkey. They were located in amacrine, bipolar and ganglion cells and were associated with the rough endoplasmic reticulum. Subsurface cisterns were not found in Müller cells. The possible functional significance of the subsurface cisterns is discussed.Entities:
