Head circumference charts updated.

M Ounsted, V A Moar, A Scott.

Abstract

Head circumference measurements from birth to 7 years, obtained from longitudinal data on children born between 1970 and 1977, are set against those from studies made in the United Kingdom earlier this century. A positive secular trend is shown. The children's heads were significantly larger than those born in the same locality 25 years earlier. Growth charts should be updated, as necessary, with each succeeding generation.
