Abstract
The sensitivity of the technique of immunoelectrodiffusion (IED) has been enhanced by combining it with an enzyme method; this also enabled the class of immunoglobulins involved in the reactions to be determined by treating the precipitated immune complexes with enzyme-labelled class-specific antisera. The method has been employed in studies of the immunology of parasitic infections and these confirmed its sensitivity and specificity. ELIEDA provides a valuable tool for analysing responses to complex immunogens.Entities:
