The vastus lateralis derived flap for repair of neglected rupture of the quadriceps femoris tendon.

O O Oni, S H Ahmad.

Abstract

A new method for repairing very large defects in the quadriceps tendon is described herein. In this technique, a strip of 2 to 5 centimeters of the aponeurosis of the vastus lateralis muscle is transposed medially to bridge the defect. Five patients have been treated with this method.
