Preliminary report on inverse diurnal variation of phenylalanine: implications in maternal phenylketonuria.

Abstract

Plasma phenylalanine concentrations vary throughout the day by a well-described circadian rhythm. This rhythm is altered in phenylketonuric subjects. The implications for monitoring a pregnant phenylketonuric are considered.
