Abstract
A simple technique for inducing sputum production with vaporized 15% aqueous NaCl is described. Fifteen inhalations of saline aerosol, followed by a waiting period of 15-30 minutes, were sufficient to induce a productive cough in 93% of the persons tested. The apparatus is portable, cheap, easily maintained and suitable for use under field or hospital conditions.Entities:
