Scanning electron microscopy of the human submandibular gland.

T Nagai, M Nagai.

Abstract

We examined human submandibular gland parenchyma by scanning electron microscopy after removal of connective tissue components by HCl hydrolysis. Stellate-shaped myoepithelial cells and basal infoldings were clearly seen, indicating active function of the gland.
