Abstract
Cavitary pneumonitis due to Bacillus cereus occurred in a patient with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Pneumonia due to this organism is uncommon and recovery has not been previously reported. The present report is the first description of cavitary pneumonia due to B. cereus with a successful outcome. Recovery was attributed to appropriate antimicrobial therapy and induction of leukemic remission with chemotherapy.Entities:
