Abstract

The apoE polymorphism was studied by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis in serum samples from 62 male subjects with multifactorial hypercholesterolemia and from 63 normal subjects. The apoE-4 isoform was significantly more frequent (p less than 0.02) among the hypercholesterolemic subjects than among the normocholesterolemic controls.
