Scleral reinforcement for high myopia.

Abstract

This paper reviews the scleral reinforcement procedure for high myopia. A discussion of the indications and operative technique is presented with postoperative results and complications in 191 cases performed by one surgeon over the last 14 years. A discussion of the history of scleral reinforcement, modification of technique, and pathogenesis of high myopia is presented.
