[Reaction of the respiratory system of rabbits to hypoxic stimulation in a nitrogen-oxygen environment under elevated pressure].

In 9 unanesthetized rabbits, parameters of external respiration were studied in normoxic nitrogen-oxygen mixture under the pressure of 6 kg/cm2, depending on the decrease of oxygen pressure in arterial blood. The ventilatory response of the respiration system to a hypoxic stimulus was decreased in hyperbaria whereas in reduction of the oxygen tension in arterial blood down to 37.6 Hg a suppression of the lung ventilation occurred.
