Abstract
A comparison of three different suture techniques on the large bowel of the same experimental animal demonstrated that careful suture alone is adequate to produce a sufficient anastomosis. The advantages of this suture technique are to provide strength to the intestinal anastomosis, less scar tissue, and fewer peritoneal adhesions. The experimental results suggest that suturing of the submucosa can be used on other intestinal areas, too.Mesh:
