Abstract
A method for the isolation of an enriched population (greater than 60%) of bovine eosinophils was developed, using density gradient centrifugation. Eosinophils were isolated from peripheral blood by centrifugation on a density gradient medium of sp gr 1.092. Viability was greater than or equal to 95%, and the isolated eosinophils were found to be functional in chemokinetic and antibody-dependent cellular-cytotoxicity assays. This method represents a simple, rapid method for obtaining bovine eosinophils that can be used in a variety of assays of eosinophil function.Entities:
