Papillary carcinoma of the thyroid gland with lipomatous stroma: report of a peculiar histological type of thyroid tumour.

M A Vestfrid.

Abstract

The author reports a case of a 53-year-old woman with a slowly growing thyroid papillary carcinoma. Microscopically the presence of adult adipose tissue was detected in numerous papillae. The recognition of this histological type as a new variety of papillary carcinoma is proposed.
