Group reminiscence therapy and levels of depression in the elderly.

C L Parsons.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the differences in levels of depression in the elderly after group reminiscence therapy. The hypothesis that depressed elderly patients participating in group reminiscence therapy have decreased post-treatment levels of depression was supported. Findings suggest that group reminiscence therapy may provide an effective form of treatment for moderately depressed elderly people.
