Abstract
A randomized, prospective comparison of ampicillin and ampicillin-gentamicin therapy was conducted in a group of 123 women undergoing primary cesarean section after the onset of labor. All pretreatment patient profiles indicated similar high-risk factors for infection. Febrile morbidity, complication rate and hospital stay were all more favorable in women receiving ampicillin-gentamicin.Entities:
