Cystic meningiomas in infancy.

Abstract

A convexity meningioma associated with a large peritumoral cyst in a 5-month-old girl is reported. Although meningiomas histologically confirmed within the first year of life are quite rare, a review of the cases sporadically appearing in the literature revealed the existence of a group of meningiomas in infants that have unique features in common. The case presented here is a typical example. The clinical characteristics of such a group of meningiomas are discussed.
