Benign and malignant melanocytic neoplasms of domestic animals.

M H Goldschmidt1.

Abstract

Benign and malignant melanocytic neoplasms of domestic animals occur most commonly in the dog and horse. The classification, gross morphology, and histopathology of cutaneous, mucocutaneous, oral, and ocular melanocytic neoplasms in dogs is discussed herein, and the similarity of these neoplasms to those of man, horse, and Sinclair miniature swine is reviewed.
