Abstract
This chapter provides an account of obstructive sleep apnea that is designed for clinicians. Current ideas about the mechanism of upper airway obstruction are reviewed, and the clinical features are discussed in a manner intended to facilitate the clinical assessment of such patients. Various forms of treatment are reviewed, with major emphasis given to the use of nasal positive airway pressure, a form of therapy developed by the authors.Entities:
