Abstract
The electrostatic potential of B-DNA is calculated on its surface envelope for two homopolymeric base pair sequences using models representing the effects of both counterion binding and of aqueous solution. The influence of these two factors on the resulting potentials is established and the significance of calculations which omit such effects is discussed.Mesh:
