Abstract
Patients frequently fail to understand what they are told. Further, they frequently forget the information given to them. These factors have effects on patients' satisfaction with the consultation. All three of these factors--understanding, memory and satisfaction--have effects on the probability that a patient will comply with advice. The levels of failure to understand and remember and levels of dissatisfaction are described. Quantitative estimates of the effects of these factors on non-compliance are presented.Entities:
