Clinical pharmacological evaluation of aminopenicillins.

To establish the clinical value of antibiotics, clinical trials are necessary. Both bacteriological and clinical-pharmacological data are helpful when designing a proper clinical trial. The difference between amoxicillin and ampicillin preparations cannot be defined on pharmacokinetic grounds alone. The difference in absorption between ampicillin and either pivampicillin or bacampicillin shows the latter two to be superior.
