How to meet the lipid requirements of the premature infant.

T Heim.

Abstract

Through effective use of tables and illustrations, the author discusses the lipid requirements of the premature infant and how these requirements may be met by examining the lipid composition of human milk and colostrum, cow's milk, infant formula, vegetable oils, and premature-infant formula. Also discussed are the variables that affect the composition of human milk and the question of term versus preterm milk.
