Abstract
Sedentary elders experience significant decline in physical ability, functional capacity, and sense of well-being with aging. Activity programs can have an impact on these losses but also carry significant risks for potential participants. Heterogeneity of the aging population requires individual assessments of their medical condition and exercise tolerance in determining the goals and conduct of an exercise program. Properly applied, such programs can significantly improve the quality of life for the elderly.Entities:
