Abstract
A patient is described who developed sore throat, palpable purpura, and a distinctive panniculitis. The pathologic alterations in the subcutis were similar to what Wells described in the dermis as eosinophilic cellulitis. In our experience the presence of such a picture primarily in the subcutis is unique. Streptococcus is implicated as a possible antigenic stimulus for the process in this patient.Entities:
