Abstract
The authors, from their experience in 60 patients, demonstrate that technetium-99m-labelled red blood cell scintigraphy is a sensitive (91%) and specific (76%) diagnostic procedure with a high predictive value, when both positive (81%) and negative (92%). It is preferable to and more cost-effective than selective angiography as a first-line diagnostic test for occult gastrointestinal bleeding.Entities:
