Many methods and anatomic landmarks have been used to assess vertebral rotation radiographically. A method is described by which it is possible to determine accurately the three-dimensional orientation of a vertebra by taking advantage of its anatomical symmetry, especially regarding the rotation about the longitudinal axis.
