Neodymium:YAG laser therapy for malignant and benign endobronchial obstructions.

M Unger.

Abstract

Because of its specific wavelength (1064 nm), the Nd:YAG laser can be transmitted through fiberoptics and has very specific characteristics of a high-scattering effect in living tissues, permitting in-depth penetration of energy and coagulation of cellular protein. Among other topics, this article reviews the indications for and complications of endoscopic Nd:YAG therapy.
