Abstract
The medical profile of patients undergoing cataract extraction is reviewed, documenting preexisting and newly discovered conditions. This article concludes that significant medical conditions exist in this population and the elderly may require the support of facilities for inpatient-based elective cataract extraction despite the trend toward out-patient surgery.Entities:
