Abstract
Refractory, long-standing, high-frequency epilepsy was successfully managed with high-dose phenytoin treatment. Side effects were observed in only three patients and were easily corrected. Most of the patients had partial seizures, but many also had a myoclonic component. Emphasis was placed on monotherapy whenever possible. Results, interpretation of serum levels, and toxic reactions to phenytoin are discussed.Entities:
