[Postprandial hyperlipemia, circadian rhythm and the stress test in lipid metabolism].

W Herrmann, J Biermann, W Reuter.

Abstract

Functional tests and daily profiles allow more exact insights for the diagnostics and management of the therapy in disturbances of fat metabolism than the momentary establishment of the fasting lipids. Circadian rhythms are reported particularly for lipoproteins rich in triglycerides, triglycerides, HDL fractions, lipolytic and lipogenic enzymes. The postalimentary hypertriglyceridaemia depends upon the distribution and the composition of food as well as upon individual differences (e.g. sex). The connection to the HDL metabolism is of particular importance. The interaction of the lipoprotein fractions in the circadian course has still many open questions. Results with an oil tolerance test are presented and discussed.
