Abstract
A live-trichophyton vaccine against ringworm in cattle which was based on an attenuated strain of Trichophyton verrucosum was tested in controlled challenge-exposure experiments and in field trials. On the basis of data involving approximately 400,000 vaccinated animals over a 5-year period, it was concluded that trichophytosis in cattle can be controlled by immunoprophylaxis. Side effects associated with the vaccination occur infrequently.Entities:
