Release of cytolytic factor(s) by murine macrophages in vitro on treatment with cis-platin.

Abstract

Supernatants collected from macrophage monolayers treated with cis-Platin lyse the tumor cells in vitro. In addition the cis-Platin treated macrophages are observed to show increased binding of tumor cells and also have a cytostatic effect on them. It is proposed that cis-Platin treatment of macrophages results in the release of cytolytic factor(s) with potent capacity to lyse the tumor cells in vitro.
