High leftward origin of the right coronary artery.

J B Partridge.

Abstract

Minor variations in the position of the origin of the right coronary artery are not uncommon, but marked displacement is unusual. Three cases are presented in which the right coronary artery took origin from the middle third of the ascending aorta together with leftward displacement. Two cases were associated with valvar aortic stenosis. Selective catheterisation of this anomalous vessel can be difficult.
