Abstract
A patient with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome treated with prochlorperazine and droperidol developed neuroleptic malignant syndrome, characterized by akinetic mutism, resting tremor, cogwheel rigidity, and elevated serum creatine phosphokinase. An identical syndrome reappeared with subsequent administration of haloperidol. Neuroleptic malignant syndrome has not been previously reported in acquired immunodeficiency syndrome.Entities:
