Nonfatal chromobacterial sepsis.

Abstract

We have described a case of multiple liver abscesses caused by Chromobacterium violaceum. This organism should be considered in any case of unexplained liver abscess occurring in the southeastern United States. Successful treatment of liver abscesses caused by this organism may be accomplished with appropriate antibiotic therapy.
