Antral vascular ectasia--the "watermelon" stomach.

Abstract

Antral vascular ectasia is a rarely described condition; it is a cause of blood loss and iron deficiency anaemia, particularly in the elderly. Four cases of antral vascular ectasia ("watermelon" stomach) in elderly patients are reported. The clinical history, endoscopic and histological features are described.
