Hyponatremia and fluid retention in a neonate associated with maternal naproxen overdosage.

Abstract

We report the case of a pre-term infant who developed severe hyponatremia and water retention associated with the ingestion of an overdose of the non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug naproxen eight hours before delivery. Recovery was complete and subsequent development unimpaired.
