Abstract
We have described a previously healthy medical student who had endocarditis due to Haemophilus paraphrophilus necessitating replacement of the mitral valve. We compared this case to the 11 previously reported cases of endocarditis caused by this organism, stressing the fastidious nature of the organism, its destructive nature, and its propensity for thromboembolism.Entities:
