Transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder in patients under 40 years of age.

S Y Chang1, C P Ma.

Abstract

Transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder is the most common neoplasm of the urinary tract but it occurs infrequently in younger patients. An analysis of 25 patients aged less than 40 years showed that the clinical course and prognosis were relatively benign. It is suggested that management and follow-up should be the same as in older patients with urothelial carcinoma.
