Abstract
Presence of acetylcholine (ACh) in the vagal afferent fibres of the rat was investigated. In the nodose ganglion, which contains the cell bodies of this sensitive contingent, a choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) activity, a choline (Ch) uptake and an endogenous content of acetylcholine were detected. These data were confirmed by ChAT immunohistological visualization.Entities:
