Use of a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy in the management of advanced basal cell carcinoma of the head and neck.

A series of patients with massive rodent-type basal cell carcinoma of the head are presented as having therapeutic responses with chemotherapy combined with radiation therapy ranging from partial to complete response. No cases were cured by the regimen. The nature of large basal cell carcinomas of the head and treatment philosophy for surgically unresectable tumor are discussed.
