Artistry in aesthetic surgery. Aesthetic perception and the subunit principle.

Abstract

We "see" what we perceive. The visual process of seeing and the psychology of perception are examined. A method of facial reconstruction emphasizing the restoration of subunits to maintain expected contours and landmarks is derived.
