Third trimester fantasies of first-time expectant fathers.

L N Sherwen.

Abstract

Results of an exploratory study of fantasies of first-time expectant fathers and non-expectant males are presented. Data collection instruments included the Imaginal Processes Inventory, the Sex Role Inventory, and the Affectional Relationship Inventory. The fantasy pattern of expectant fathers differed minimally from that of non-expectant males. Fantasy pattern of the expectant fathers appeared to be influenced by their sex role orientations and involvement in the pregnancy.
