Abstract
Lung water homeostasis and the subsequent prevention of pulmonary edema involve a balance of many forces and safety factors. Malnutrition and its effects on fluid distribution within body compartments and on oncotic pressure gradients can play a crucial role in this balance of forces. These forces are discussed, with emphasis on the complications of superimposed malnutrition.Entities:
