Abstract
Personality factors are thought to play a role in peptic ulcer disease. In this study the psychological profiles of chronic gastric ulcer (GU) patients (n = 28) were compared to matched controls (n = 28) using the Cattell Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire Form C. GU patients were characterized by traits of anxiety, dependence, introspection, trustfulness and adaptability. These findings are discussed in the light of the literature on personality and peptic ulcer disease.Entities:
