Abstract
A patient complaining of extreme light sensitivity and "smokey" vision was diagnosed as having developing cataracts. He would not consent to surgery until alternative treatments were attempted. Tinted prescription sunglasses were too dark indoors, interfered with his work and didn't relieve the symptoms. Special light filtering lenses from Corning, ones that block blue light thought to scatter as it enters the eye and cause the glare experienced by cataract sufferers, increased functional vision and offered this patient a comfortable alternative while awaiting surgery.Entities:
